The girls sought the Easter water from one flow, in the night on the Easter Sunday between 00.00 clock and 1.00 hours at that time which flowed from an easterly direction therefore from the sunrise. The Easter water served for well-being purposes with people and animals. So the cattle was sprinkled with Easter water so that illnesses are kept away. But also the faith in purity and beauty by the water drove the girls at night out to the water.
Neck and face were washed with the water because the Easter water gave the bearer beauty and freshness for a whole year.
