Spreewald pickled gherkins
Ingredients:- Screwing glasses
- 3 kilograms of small, solid cucumbers
- Spices, as described below
and Go
- 3 kilograms of small, stack solid cucumbers in screwing glasses.
To this per glass
- 1 to 2 teaspoon of mustard seed
- Dill minced more freshly
- 1 onion quartered or in plates
- 6 peppercorns
- 2 all spices corns
- Perhaps tarragon
- Perhaps 1/4 bay leaf
Bringing these spices to the boil together
- 1 liter of vinegar (10% acid amount or gas vinegar.)
- 5 liters of water
- 2 handsful salt
- 500 grams of sugar
Pour cooled off brine over this so that the cucumbers are covered completely. Boil it 10 to 15 minutes.
A crisp, delicious addition for your larder.
