Pickled herring

Ingredients:
  • 4 salted herrings
  • (or 8 herring fillets filleted matie.)
  • 4-5 medium-sized pickled cucumbers
  • 2 cups of soured cream
  • two little onions
  • a touch linseed oil at own discretion
  • Salt, pepper

Preparation

Watering, excepting, boning, peeling and dividing into pieces salted herrings thoroughly.

Ready bought herring fillets are already peeled and boned. Simply sharing the pieces of sirloin at own discretion or taking in the whole here.

You give checked pickled cucumbers a little linseed oil, the chopped onions, soured cream and these to the herrings. Salting and peppering carefully since salted herrings are already very salty.

Having to mix everything with each other and to boil about 2.5 hours easily.

Have a taste, refining perhaps with a touch of linseed oil.

The linseed oil is not everyone's thing, therefore there is no indication of quantity for it. Simply measuring out in an estimation of one's own.

To this one eats jacket potatoes best.
