
The Schinkelkirche in Straupitz rises on a lengthways rectangular ground plan. The closed main body is covered with a saddle roof. Two multi-storeyed towers rise at its façade directed to the southwest. Multistage open stairs reaching to the complete breadth of the building lead to three big round arch portals. Impost mouldings at the portals and the windows of the two side axes as well as a distinguished cornice get the complete main body changed two.
They represent an effective horizontal counterbalance to the vertical parts of the building, the high towers of the façade and the long windows on the sides of the building. A broad document panel is let in over the middle portal on height of the first floor with the inscription: Praise the Lord in his shrine; Praise him in the Veste of his power! Breathe everything what has, praises the lord, hallelujah psalm 150 th V. 1. and 6., ".
The towers start over the cornice and end with a straight completion, carry flat pyramid roofs and are crowned with iron crosses. The high balance of the façade will keep also on the sides of the making.
Into this carefully thought out and clear calculated the different wall openings, window and doors, became system of horizontal lines, used, so that an aesthetically attractive, tightly jointed division of the wall tile.
The church has always to be visited after the services. Services every Sunday at 10.00 clock. Sunday school at 10.00 clock in the municipality room.
