Information

The Lausitz owes its name to the people of the Slavonic tribe of the Lusizi, which established himself in this area (9./10 .a.D.). They lived in castle embankments which served them as a defence plant at the same time.

One of these fortified building systems is the Slav castle Raddusch and after an effortful reconstruction it is open for visitors now. The construction work started in August 1999. It is to see one of the most interesting exhibitions in the Slav castle Raddusch in the Spreewald here today.

How did the Slavs live? You learn more about the people established here once in picture, text and archaeological finds. Also your physical well-being is provided. You enjoy a snack meal after or before your tour in the Slav tavern.
