The zoo was opened in 1954. It is part of the biggest zoos in Brandenburg today. Some basic data: Almost 1100 animals in 170 ways. of course 140000 visitors in the year 2002nd beasts of prey, hoof animals, elephants, monkeys belong to the residents of the zoo just the same as porcupines, penguins and ducks.

The new beast of prey enclosure for Siberian tigers was opened in the year 2001. At your tour by the zoo this will show you many different species of bird; special value is attached to the attitude by bird ways in the Cottbus zoo.

In addition, the park has a beautiful old tree population and numerous benches which invite to staying. A restaurant and a kiosk provide your physical well-being.

The play grounds are an additional fun for your children.

• Family card II: 12, 00 euro (2 adults and up to 4 children.)

• Adult: 3.20 euros per person
• Reduced: 2.60 euros per person
• Children 3 to 16 years: An escort on 10 children has 1.60 euros per person to do a liberal admission

Annual season ticket: Valid of the 01.01. till 31.12.2007

• Reduced: 20,00 euro per person
• Children: 12,00 euro per person

Holders of the Cottbus passport receive a reduction of 50% on the full admission charge.
